Using content from other apps

Select a text in any application and press the hotkey.

Kerlig integrates with your existing workflow by automatically extracting content from other apps. When you have text selected, Kerlig uses that selection. Otherwise, it intelligently captures relevant structured content from the active app (see Supported apps)

Launch Kerlig from any supported app to instantly start AI conversations with webpage content, email threads, or documents. No manual copying required.

🔐Privacy by design
Content from other apps is read by Kerlig only when you open it, and everything stays local unless you choose to send it to an AI model.

Webpages read from Google Chrome

Kerlig reads the content from the current tab in your browser, meaning you can also use webpages that are behind a login in your AI workflows – for example paid newspaper articles, social media feeds or web apps like Linear, Trello, Sentry etc.

Each browser requires specific permissions for seamless integration.

Safari

Needed permissions

  1. Accessibility permissions
    System Settings → Privacy and Security → Accessibility → enable Kerlig

  2. Automation permissions
    System Settings → Privacy and Security → Automation → expand Kerlig → enable Safari

  3. JavaScript from Apple Events

    • Safari → Settings → Advanced → enable "Show features for web developers"
    • Safari → Developer → Developer Settings → enable "Allow JavaScript from Apple events"

Google Chrome

💡Notion app vs. Notion in browser
For some documents Kerlig may give better results when extracting content from Notion in the browser, rather than from the Notion app. Try both approaches to see which works better for you.
